Boreal Shelties History

When we started, and why.

I started training my first show dog in 1995 and showed him for the first time in November 1996.  Simco Against All Odds (Pepper) was my first show dog but he didn't work out so he became a Junior Handler dog for both of my children, Shawn and Sarah.

My wife, Debbie, has never shown a dog and refuses to do so but she is the best kennel help anyone could wish for.

My First Champion (Cayenne) was BISS, Am/Can CH, Can BIS, Singletree Irrisistible.  She was my second show dog and she was a great companion.

Cayenne gave me my first Bred-By Am/Can CH, Can BIS, Boreal Ring My Bell (Bell).  She was a great showman but lost interest in the ring so I retired her to a new home on 2.5 acres in Homer Alaska.

Bell gave us our next Bred-By Am CH, Boreal On The Road Again (Willie).  Willie is a very active dog, one that loves Lure Coursing, flyball, and anything that allows him to give 110% and then some.  He is awaiting 1 more point in Canada to finish his Championship there.

What are our future plans?

I love the breed but tend to want to vacation more these days so I may start leaning towards fewer dogs, limited breeding and increased judging.
